at 3 PM the Revenue Cutter came up through the Reach and into the Steam Boat wharf and cleared the ice Anchored in the Cove and layed through the night |

In the morning the Cuttersteamed up through the Reach and back twice then came into the Cove and broke the ice around the Schr Robert Dority at 11 AM came alongside the wharf and all who wished went on board and over the boat. The Capt came on shore and came up to the store of WG Sargent & Son and spent half an hour or more and then was taken back to the steamer well satisfied with his reception. Eggs milk and apples were carried on board. We as a community appreciate his services very much The Reach is open above for the Boat At 6 PM the Cutter took the Robert Dority in tow and towed her to the Head of the Reach The name of the Capt is Fengar |

Just heard that Capt Sam Wilson of Sedgwick was dead he died in New York with the pneumonia he is just in from Mexico At 3 PM the steamer Richmond came up through the Reach for the first time and stoped at Sargentville Wharf |
