Sargentville Steamboat Wharf
Before the steamboats there were the schooners that moved materials to and from markets, and transported people to ports near and far.
Then came the steamboats and a wharf was built in Sargentville at the end of Shore Road.
Steamboats were more comfortable for passengers and, not being dependent upon the wind, were able to keep to scheduled stops along the way.
